About MyLegalHelper

Legal questions usually show up at the worst possible time. Maybe you’ve just been served with papers, you’re trying to figure out how much a lawyer is actually going to cost, or you’re staring at a court form with no idea what half the words mean. The information is technically out there, but it’s scattered across government websites, buried in legal jargon, or hidden behind a law firm’s contact form.
MyLegalHelper exists to close that gap. This site explains how the US legal system actually works, in plain English, without the jargon and without trying to sell you anything.
What You’ll Find Here
The site is organized around the questions people actually search for, not around legal categories that only make sense to attorneys. We cover:
- Court Process & Small Claims — what actually happens after you file, and how long it tends to take.
- Legal Costs & Fees — what lawyers really charge, and how different fee structures work.
- Family Law Basics — divorce, custody, and child support, explained without the legalese.
- Landlord-Tenant Law & Eviction — what notice you’re owed, how eviction timelines actually work, and what happens to your security deposit.
- Debt, Bankruptcy & Collections — what debt collectors can and can’t do, and the real difference between Chapter 7 and Chapter 13.
- Employment & Workplace Rights — what counts as wrongful termination, and how to handle an unpaid wages or workers’ comp issue.
What This Site Is Not
MyLegalHelper is not a law firm, and nothing on this site is legal advice. Reading an article here doesn’t create an attorney-client relationship, and it isn’t a substitute for talking to a licensed attorney about your specific situation. Laws and procedures vary by state and change over time, so always confirm anything important with a qualified professional or your local court before acting on it.
